Curtain Theater Performs Medieval Macabre

Halloween is fast approaching. Instead of going out with friends and doing the usual trick or treating, haunted houses and costumes, go out and enjoy a theater performance by the Boron’s men located at the Curtain Theater.

The Boron’s men is an independently owned community theater dedicated to the research of the Elizabethan Theater and the plays performed during that era.

The curtain theater is considered an open-air theater, meaning that it is outside. The theater is located at 7400 Coldwater Canyon.

The cast will perform an original play called “Medieval Macabre” featuring scenes from the famous stories of Macbeth, Hamlet and Beowulf. The performances usually last about two hours.

Performances begin on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5 and 6, followed by shows Oct.12 and 13. The last two weeks of October host performances on Thursdays in addition to the weekend shows.

Tickets can be purchased ($12-$15) at the box office at 7p.m. or they can be bought online.

Those planning to attend are advised to wear appropriate footwear considering the theater is outside. Refreshments will be offered for sale, but patrons are allowed to bring their own food and refreshments.

Also, it is important to know that the characters do interact with the audience. Audience members are encouraged to go along with it as they see fit such as hissing at the villains or cheering for the good guy.
