It has been about a month since the release of British-metalcore-band Bring Me The Horizon’s fifth studio album ‘That’s The Spirit on Sept. 11’. Either way, devoted and new fans are still raving about the album.

‘That’s The Spirit’ has been rising in music charts around the world, debuting in Billboard’s Top 200 at number two. The success of this album hasn’t been easy though: The band is known to experiment and develop their music style by branching out of their genre categorization, but they received a lot of criticism for parting from their metalcore roots to an alternative rock sound.

BMTH’s fifth album has evolved into a more organized album featuring cleaner vocals compared to their old albums that mainly had screaming instead of singing. Listeners can also notice the difference of sound in the rhythm of the instruments.

In older albums, the sound of the instruments were sloppy whereas in their new album they flow and balance each other out. These songs have different messages ranging from to making peace with your emotions to the bleakness of certain sayings, either way the album achieved the celebration of darkness and color within individuals.

The progression of the band’s sound has and will take them to new places. Both fans and members of the band have been stoked for the release of the new album and have taken over media to display their anticipation and excitement. Lead vocalist, Oliver Sykes, has used his social media accounts to give fans an in-depth explanation of what each track meant to him and the band.

The band’s constant progression is what makes them one of the greatest bands around. They have evolved through their experiences and don’t let themselves stay stuck in what they are categorized as; this is a great characteristic of bands that are willing to break out of their comfort in order to release an album greater than the last. Bring Me The Horizon is currently on tour featuring bands, Issues and PVRIS.
