Look the other way and wish for a better song. Coldplay’s newly released single “Adventure of a Lifetime” leaves some doubts to the new album from Coldplay.

“Adventure of a Lifetime,” released to the public Nov. 6, previewed what is to come in the group’s final album A Head Full of Dreams, that is going to be released in December. The song talks about the exciting emotions of being with someone and incorporates a disco style which draws listeners from older generations while clearly keeping it in the pop genre to catch our generation’s attention.

In the single, the rhythm remains constant, forcing the song to be unoriginal and not unique the way Coldplay typically makes their songs. It sounded like any other song on the radio, distracting listeners from the meaning of the lyrics.

“Adventure of a Lifetime” creates mixed feelings since it had the potential to grow into a wonderful song but the different style of rhythm restricted it and made it dull. Even so, many of Coldplay’s fans embrace this change of style believing Coldplay is extending their fan base and variety of music.

But, I hope this is the only song on the album Coldplay tried incorporating this style into. If not, the new album will not be as successful as it is expected to be and Coldplay won’t be remembered for having a great ending.
