A Life of Wonder

I wish to have a life that is far from quiet.

I want stories to tell about an adventure, a terror, and a kiss.

I want to stand on the front lines of a riot,

Plunge head first into an abyss.

I want to dance atop great trees.

To spend my time in an eternal June

All while smelling the scent of sweet peas.

I want to swim beneath a waterfall until I prune.

I want to be dazzling like a crystal.

I want my life to be like a bar,

That people shoot for with a pistol.

I want them to sing about me with a strum on their guitar.

But, because I want this, I have often sat about and brooded.

Scared it will not happen before my time has concluded.
