Ed Sheeran releases two songs from his future album ‘Divide’

Two new released singles excited fans after three years since the last Ed Sheeran album was released. Sheeran released two songs on Jan. 6 from his upcoming album Divide which is scheduled to be released on March 3. The two singles are “Castle on a Hill” and “Shape of You.”

The songs are complete opposites of each other. “Shape of You” is about being attracted physically to an individual’s body and implies sexual behavior. However, the lyrics are written so it is not derogatory of a woman’s physical shape; it does not mention any specific body parts or any specific crude acts. It just expresses the normal excited behavior of being near someone you find attractive and developing a relationship with them. The calm lyrics and the occasional high beat of the music make the song nice to listen to and sing along.

The other single, “Castle on a Hill,” is a nostalgic song that presents a glimpse of Sheeran’s childhood and the people with whom he grew up. The passion in his voice as he remembers his past draws an awe from the listeners as they remember their own childhood. The single also features inoffensive negative views of the people he grew up with to share the message that not everyone is going to lead perfect successful lives but there is no reason to hate those acquaintances.

Overall, Sheeran exceeds our expectations with these two great songs leaving fans in excitement for the other songs on the upcoming album.
