Boys basketball loses to Westwood 56-71

The gym was more lively than ever, full of team pride on both sides, and competition seemed to increase between the Mavericks and the Warriors.

McNeil came out strong and maintained enthusiasm throughout the first and second quarters, much thanks to the crowd that was throwing McNeil shirts around, upholding spirits.

It was a tough game, but both teams continued to persevere throughout the third and fourth quarters. The Warriors were up by more than 10 points, leaving the Mavs anxious to defend their home court.

“Both are great teams, and are competitive and passionate in nature,” Coach Cory Shrader said. “We are going to learn from this, specifically what we need to improve on.”

Their next game will be at Cedar Ridge on 1/27/17 at 7:00 P.M.
