Stranded on an Island with a Blond and a Magic Genie

Scene one

Island somewhere in the pacific

Raquel, Stephanie and Barbara have been stranded on an island somewhere in the middle of the pacific for three long months. They are wandering through the island’s dense jungle searching for anything edible to eat. Stephanie leads the way.

Barbara: Steph, do  you even know where you are going? We have been walking for like forever and my feet hurt…and I am starved!

Stephanie: We are stranded on this island and I have no direction. I am trying to navigate the island the best I can (looks down at her compass) . I know you are hungry. We all are. But its not like I’m not trying.

Raquel: Lets just find something to eat and think of any possible way for us to get OFF this dang island.

Barbara: We can always just swim off. I like swimming. Oh my gosh, wouldn’t it be cool if   we rode back on like dolphins or something? The dolphins seem nice.

Raquel: Oh yeah cuz that would totally work (sarcastically).

Stephanie: Well, even if we did swim off, we would die right when we dipped our toes in the water. The waters are infested with sharks and jellyfish.

Scene two

Island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean

Still on the island.  While looking for food Stephanie, Raquel and Barbara finds the Genie Lamp.

Stephanie: I see absolutely nothing edible to eat here besides bugs. We have eaten all the fruit and I don’t see a single coconut anywhere.

Barbra: Ewwie. No bugs for me. Why can’t I just have a cupcake. I miss cupcakes. I wish I had a cupcake, I wish I had a cupcake (closing her eyes and making a wish).

Raquel: (Ignoring Barbara) I can’t even touch bugs. How do you think I am ever going to put one in my Mouth?

Stephanie: They could be a good source of protein.

Barbara: We could try fishing again.

Stephanie: Do you remember how I made a hook out of the safety pin that was holding the front of your shirt together after we were stranded? We found a worm and put it on the hook…planning on catching something to eat for dinner?

Raquel: Oh, yes… right. Then you got all excited and threw the hook in the water before tying it on the string!

Barbara: Ohh right (acting like they just told a story she is recalling), I remember now.

Stephanie: Lets just keep working, maybe something we can eat will turn up.

Raquel: Ouch! My foot!

Barbara: What’s wrong? Are you okay?

Raquel: I stubbed my toe right here on this thing! (reaches down and grabs the object) What is this?

Stephanie: Let me see it. it’s a oil lamp. What a lamp doing here on the island?

Barbara: OMG! its a GENIE lamp. No way! No way! I have seen these before on TV. You just have to rub the sides of the lamp with your hands and a magical genie puffs out of the lamp and the genie gives you three wishes.

Raquel: Come on Barbara, that is pretend. Nothing on TV is real.

Stephanie: Do you really believe in that hocus pocus?

Barbara: It won’t hurt to try, I do believe in magic.

Scene 3

Island somewhere in the pacific

Stephanie, Raquel and Barbara are looking at the lamp they found. Barbara rubs the sides of the genie lamp and a magical genie poofs out of the lamp. Granting each girl a wish which changes their fate.

Genie: (Poof!) Hello, I am the Great and Magical Genie. Thank you for rubbing my lamp, I’ve been cramped in there for 300 years… waiting and waiting for someone to rub my lamp and let me out. Because you have found me, I shall grant three wishes…anything that you desire. I will only give three wishes, so think carefully before you make your wish. Now, there are three of you, who rubbed my lamp? The wishes are yours.  Remember the wish you make is final, there are no returns or exchanges (Genie smiles).

Barbara: I rubbed the lamp! Yay! (her friends look at each other nervously). See, I told you that magic is real! (sticks out her tongue at her friends)

Stephanie: Wow, you were actually right. This is so amazing. Barbara, please, please think about your wishes carefully.

Barbara: I have a great idea! My mom told me I should always share with my friends. I have practiced sharing since I was little. So, I’m actually pretty good at it. Why we don’t we each take one wish!

Raquel: Oh, Barbara! Thank you so much. Now we can finally get off this island! This is the best thing that was ever happened. Are you all ready? Can I do first?

Barbara: Sure. You go first.

Raquel: Genie, I miss my family, good food and my and wish to go back to my home.

Genie: Your wish is granted. You will be transported home to your family as you wish.

Raquel: (Waving with a smile. She disappears… poof! )

Stephanie: Can I go next?

Barbara: Sure! I will go last. Noooo problemo.

Stephanie Genie, I too miss my family and wish to return home.

Genie: Your wish is granted, you will be transported home to your family as you  wish.

Stephanie: (She blows a kiss to Barbara and poof,  she is gone.)

Barbara: Aww, both of my friends are gone. Now I am here all alone. What am i to do without them here with me Genie?

Genie: You have a wish as well little lady.  I am not here to give advice, just to grant your wish. Think of anything you desire and make your wish.

Barbara: This is wonderful news. Genie, I am very lonely now with my friends. I miss them so much already!  I know what my wish will be… I wish to have my friends back on this island with me!
