My cousin used to collect rocks, different types of it like limestone, quartz, and what he believed to be fossils. This was his unique interest that he’d had since he was a little boy.

I think that inspired his whole life and gave him the interest of pursuing a career in geology. He loved the mystery of what’s inside the rock. Every inch of the rock could hold something different; some smooth and some rough like each rock had a personality. He would always take such pride in showing his collection.

The older he grew, the bigger his collection got and the more it fueled his interest.

Now he works for the United States Geological Survey helping on the frontier of geology discovering new things every day.
