Silver Spoons

Kibum sat on the floor, a spoon lodged into his childish mouth. Small, gurgling noises came from his mouth as his large brown eyes wandered around the room the see if there was any child worth playing with the two year-old. Another slurp on the cold metal that soothed his back molars before lifting himself off the floor.

The black haired boy locked his childish eyes on another boy a few feet away from him. He let out a soft scream and threw the spoon from his lips. “My box of crayons!!” As fast as his little legs would carry him, he waddled over to the brown haired boy who was quietly coloring in a princess coloring book.

“Jjongie!” Kibum screeched as he neared the toddler. With equally large eyes, Jonghyun raised his head and looked at Kibum.

“Bummie! Look I colored a princess!” He gave a toothy grin and lifted a scribbled rainow mess of colors to show his friend.

Kibum huffed and stomped his foot. “Mine!” Reaching down he tried to tug the box from the others chubby grip.

The five year old quickly locked his fingers on the other side of the crayon box and pulled back.

“Bummie no, share!”

“No! Mine!!”

“Boys! What are you doing?!” The box clattered to the floor and both boys pulled their hands back.

Together they spoke. “Nothing!”

The teacher shook her head. “You two are such good friends, but fight so much. Alright, go under the flag pole. Its time out for both of you.”

Both the boys whined in unison but listened to their noona. Jonghyun laced his fingers with Kibums and the both toddled over to the corner.

“Sowwie Jjongie..”

As they stood, Jonghyun giggled, pulling Kibum into a tight hug. “Das okay Bummie. I still love you.”
