Glitter Wars

Glitter is a pain. It gets everywhere, and is impossible to move. They are like little tiny specks of shiny glue. So when I had a face full of glitter, I jumped at the chance to prank my best friend. My devious planning got interrupted when the teacher called my name. I stared at the board and solved the algebraic equation in my head, and blurted out the wrong answer.

The bell rang, signaling the students that you can leave the school. Excited, I dashed out the door to my house, my brilliant plan coming together. Fully aware that I looked like a disco ball, I charged up the stairs and shut my bedroom door. Flopping onto the bed I put the things I needed in front of me. My plan was simple, all I had to do was get her where she least expected, at the mall. We were going to go to the mall tomorrow and it is the perfect place. My plan came together, she would walk in the store as an employee approached her. Then She would be handed an envelope, with a glitter bomb and coupon inside.

Searching around the house, I found every bag of glitter we had, and poured it into a bowl. While my bomb was being prepared by my brother, I called the store ahead of time to let them know of my plan. I could hear the excitement of their voices as they said they would help. Everything was in place. Now all I had to do was wait, and watch.

The next day, my best friend, Annie, and I walked around the mall laughing. All the while my feet were dancing with happening, knowing that the store was coming up. We approached the door, and I signaled one of the employees by nodding and pointing to Annie. As she and I stepped through the door, two employees walked up to each of us and handed us an envelope. Not even thinking, I opened the envelope, and glitter exploded in my face. We both looked at each other and stared at the glitter faces. My dignity left me completely, as I started to laugh and dance around like an idiot.

A week and several glitter packets later, Annie and I called a truce. No more coats of glitter for either of us. We were getting tired of the trails of glitter to and from our houses. However, the glitter bombing didn’t stop. Our feud got some attention, and we started a trend. So everyone at school was always either coated in glitter or had a bomb ready. The poor janitors gave up cleaning all the glitter, so our school ended up looking like a unicorn had the flu. Everything was as normal as it could be in my life, until someone glitter bombed me at my birthday party. This time I am ready.
