Outside Poem

“Ready to go outside?”

i ask myself

and wait

for days

on end

and then

put on

my mask

and hat

to hide my face and hair

music blasting in my ear

i walk a steady pace

it’s not a race

against

the grass

just

the clock

trash

lines

the line

between

me

and a ditch

peering over it

i see

a little creek

but not

much else.
