Over the few months the students and faculty got to take a sneak peak into the development of the new cafeteria. From the angle which it could be seen it was quite impressive given the fact every person who was in, in person attendance was able to see the construction day after day. But as of yesterday the construction was completed.

Stepping into the cafeteria in the morning was a surreal experience. The angle of which the cafeteria could only be seen by those passing through the hallways didn’t really capture how big it really was. Stepping through you could see a new stage, green sofas in the background, inside where you pick up your food, an outdoor kiosk, about a few different clear doors to enter or exit the cafeteria, and a number of flat screen tv’s.

The cafeteria also gives students more personal space. Instead of long brown tables with a sticker to mark where each person, the new tables are round for each individual person to sit. There are also several different tall tables lining the windows with two tall seats. In the back there are short circular tables with about five different seats around it. Sitting next the window is probably one of the coolest places to sit because of how close of a pretty view into the courtyard or the sky, especially In the beginning hours of sunrise. Getting food and eating has a special kind of charm to it  in the new cafeteria. The entrance behind the stage is also pretty neat; there’s a row of tables next to the entrance. The chairs are all facing blue tiles with glass bricks along the side. Giving the new cafeteria a touch of a 1970s look.

All and all the old cafeteria in comparison is old and bland compared to it’s newer and modern counterpart. The views are nice, the architecture is something to appreciate, food is still the same, good, and the view is visible and with the added sunlight is what gives this new cafeteria a special kind of charm.
