Group promotes unique style
Fashion. To every person fashion is something different and unique. McNeil has started a fashion club to promote just that: individual people’s fashion.
“Fashion doesn’t have to be following every single trend,” club sponsor and fashion design teacher Erin Pena said.
The club just began and meets the second Tuesday of every month in D103 to work on DIY projects and plan events to attend.
“We hope to go to shows during Austin’s fashion week,” Pena said. “Another idea we had was to have a workshop for people to learn how to sew.”
Fashion Club members also hope to show students’ different styles.
“My favorite part about fashion club is being able to show the school there are other fashionable students,” senior Quinton Combs-Drake said.
One of the ways that Fashion Club displays people’s unique fashions is through Instagram, @mcneil_fashion. Check out the page, or even try to be on it.
“My favorite part about fashion is getting to see the different styles people are into and how they express themselves with clothes,” senior Clarissa Boerner said.
