15-year-old Goren releases third EP
At just 15 years old, musician and singer Ray Goren released his third EP, Songs For You, which was produced by Grammy Award winner Steve Jordan. For such a young age, Goren plays several instruments including guitar and piano, and he writes his own material. Just that alone is something to be celebrated as many adult musicians with years of experience bring in people to write and play for them.
“Those Days” is one of the four original tracks. It is a piano-driven track with gospel and soul influences with lyrics about how Goren sees the world today. He is lightyears ahead of any expectations of what anyone would have of a teenage singer and it shows a great deal of talent, the type of talent that has been there from the start.
Along with the four original tracks, the EP includes a cover of The Doors’ “Light My Fire.” In today’s music industry covers are common and most of the times, they are done in a way that never feels just right. Goren’s cover is one of those few really great ones, it makes the song sound new but doesn’t take anything away from the original.
As talented as he already is, Goren is still only 15. He has an exponential amount of talent so he can only get better from here. For him, this is just the beginning of what could be an amazing career and Songs For You is one of the starting steps.
