Record executive and CEO of Epic Records LA Reid released a new book Sing To Me: My Story of Making Music, Finding Magic, and Searching for Who’s Next in which he shares incredible details from more than two decades in the music industry and working with some of the biggest stars. In Sing To Me, Reid opens up about what it is like to be in the studio with the likes of Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey and Outkast.

The book chronicles the extraordinary highs and lows of his career. For example, Reid talks about missing out on a young Lady Gaga, staging Mariah Carey’s comeback, and his part in TLC’s much publicized bankruptcy. There are also excerpts about discovering Rihanna and letting his ex wife Pebbles take a Vanessa Williams song.

Overall, the book is average in writing but the content is what makes it worth the read. For big music fans, all the name-dropping details are mind blowing. Different from other music industry biographies, Sing To Me actually has never released content and that is what makes it standout.
