Majestic Nationals
Majestics Slay at Nationals
Several First Place Winners
The Majestics competed in the American Dance Nationals on March 25th. They placed in many categories, with including Contemporary, Jazz, and Hip-Hop.
“My favorite part was winning,” sophomore Noel Cruz said. “Watching the competition was also really fun.”
Cruz competed in Team Contemporary, Hip-Hop, and Jazz. Team Contemporary and Jazz won first place.
“It took months and months of dedication and hard-work,” sophomore Grace Lippert, who also competed in Contemporary, Jazz, and Hip-Hop said. “Awards were really fun since we took home a lot of things.”
The Majestics began practicing the dances in the fall. They would practice in the morning starting at 7:30 and throughout first period. They performed the dances at the Lone Star competition February 18th and received feedback from the judges.
“We were also able to perform these dances at Illusions two weeks prior to Nationals,” head dance instructor Brooke Solomon said.
The Majestics also won first place in Officer Contemporary, Jazz, and Hip-Hop, with officers Emilia Vieira, Michelle Schneider, and Mina Murasugi performing. Officer Contemporary also won the WOW factor award, which was given to dances that stood out.
