Pose
A drama spotlighting the legends of New York’s underground ball culture
Pose is an American drama show that focuses on the lives of African American and Latinx LGBTQ+, gender nonconforming and transgender communities, and their ballroom culture. The series does a good job of shining a light on the struggles these minorities go through, and does not sugarcoat anything. It’s also good because even though it shows serious topics, it has its funny and lighthearted moments so not everything is somber the entire time. All in all, “Pose” deserves a 4 out of 5 star rating because it has a good plot and good acting. Some of the actors who stood out were Indya Moore who played Angel Evangelista, Dominique Jakson who played Elektra and Billy Porter who played Pray Tell. This show can be found on Netflix or select streaming apps.
