“The Mandalorian” season two created a broader galaxy for “Star Wars”

The “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian” returned for a second season to its home streaming platform of “Disney+”. Last season, we were introduced to the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) a bounty hunter, and his kidnapped bounty “the Child.” “Mando,” in the previous season, was most of the time fighting enemies in order to protect “the Child”, who was being searched for by many, but most importantly, Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), the leader of the Galactic Empire’s remnants.

In this season, the Mandalorian’s main priority is to find others of his kind that could help him find a Jedi in order to return “the Child,” since he’s strong with the force and requires proper training. Throughout the course of the season, Mando helps individuals from different planets with their circumstances in exchange for pieces of information that could potentially help him fulfill his quest.

Season two, when compared to season one, had superior graphics, camerawork and storytelling. This season made its character development more interesting and heartwarming by building a stronger bond between “the Child” and “Mando”. There were also performances that were jaw-dropping such as “Mando” performing acts that go against the creed and “the Child” developing his powers with the force to a further extent. Not only that, but season two brought back some familiar faces from previous “Star Wars” movies and series’, making it even more enthralling and exciting for Star Wars fanatics. Other things that also shouldn’t go unnoticed are the elaborate music, the well-performed fight scenes and the amazing acting by Pedro Pascal. Sure, he’s wearing a helmet most of the time, but he conveys emotion without facial expressions in a remarkable fashion. However, some episodes were a bit too short, which is unfair considering there’s a one-week waiting period for each episode to be released. The second season deserves 4 out of 5 stars.

Since there are so many important and shocking events that occurred this season, fans were left with many questions about certain aspects of the show, primarily what’s going to happen in the next season. Furthermore, it was announced by the producer of the show, John Favreau, that a spin-off series is expected to come in December of 2021 titled “The Book of Boba Fett”. There have also been two more spin-off series’ announced such as “Ahsoka” and “Rangers of the New Republic”, that are coming soon.

Because “Star Wars” is working on so many new projects that will provide fans with new content in the near future, “The Mandalorian’s” third season will have its release date shifted. According to Favreau, the next season is expected to be in production after “The Book of Boba Fett” is released on “Disney+”. Even though our favorite bounty hunter will be taking a break for a bit, let’s hope these new series will entertain us during 2021 and make “The Mandalorian’s” next season worth the wait.
