Ty Myers, a 17-year-old country artist, performed the first show for his “The Select” album tour.
Myers played on Jan. 16 at the Haute Spot in Cedar Park.
“The concert was so fun and his new songs were really good,” sophomore Kerry Vo said. “I feel like his unreleased songs were emotional, but also very relatable and they were fun to listen to, especially for the first time.”
Myers set list consisted of a few unreleased songs since his album will be fully released on January 24, but the crowd still knew almost every word to each song he played.
“I thought the concert was amazing,” junior Lara Thiele said. “I think he knows how to appeal to his audience and his voice just sounded so great in person.”
Along with Myers’ performance he also had an opening act, Anthony Palmer, a country artist with his latest single released last September “Captain.”
“Anthony Palmer was a pretty good opening,” junior Emily Vacek said. “He set the vibe for Ty Myers and had a set list that was more calm but still lots of fun and he had great interaction with the audience.”
The venue had food and the stage was visible from all sides in general admission.
“I would love to see him again and I’m so excited for his new album,” Vacek said. “I saw some of his songs on TikTok and so I recognized a couple of them, but all of them were so good and they kind of remind me of ‘Drinking Alone’ which is one of his most popular songs.”
