Students in college prep math participated in a linear function activity that allowed them to interact with their peers and problem solve on Friday, Jan. 25. Through this activity teacher Tanisha Wilson believes students better understand linear equations and identifying slopes because of the project.
“I wanted my students to get more practice writing equations and I was tired of just talking to them all day so I wanted to have them do something fun with each other,” Willson said. “ I think it helped them get more practice seeing different ways to write a linear function.”
Senior Sofia Blue believes this activity not only allowed her to strengthen her ability to identify linear equations but also to improve on her team working skills.
“We usually don’t talk to other people a lot, we just write on our desks and just share it out loud,” Blue said. “I learned how to talk to other people about the same problem and how to figure it out together.”
