Meet Me at the Library
I was never as happy as when I saw her come online. The sound of a notification made my heart flutter, and I knew it would always be her. Our video chats lasted hours and hours, but not a second of them were boring, even if we were just sitting quietly with each other. There wasn’t anyone in the world who made me happier than she did, not my family, or my friends that I happened to know in real life. I always told her that I was so lucky that we met, and every time I meant it. I don’t know what my world would be without her.
We have been friends for two years, all online. It was both a blessing and a curse. I did, to some extent, enjoy the online arrangement, but it was also a pain to know that I couldn’t see her everyday. We met there, and soon our friendship blossomed, but distance sadly kept us apart. Sometimes it was hard explaining to people how I was able to keep up a relationship online. It didn’t matter though, I didn’t need for people to understand; what we had was more important than that.
That day we met was the best. I had never had a better day in my life. We met at a library. I was, of course, early, as we had expected, and she arrived exactly on time. I felt the room light up when she entered, and my heart began to beat faster and faster. I was just so happy to finally meet my best friend.
