Bruce’s Lucky Day
“Congratulations! You’re the lucky winner today!”, the salesman exclaimed when he handed Bruce a dead duck.
“Thanks,” Bruce responded and in a smaller voice “looks like dinner’s solved! I got to tell Ma and Pa ‘bout this!”
Bruce tried to call but his phone was dead too, “Wow-” Bruce saw a telephone booth “-Lucky!” and told his parents about his earnings.
Bruce was making his way out of the mall but saw a group of girls arguing.
“Hey, y’all lost? I can help ya.”
The girls accepted Bruce’s offer and told him where they were going.
“No prob. I got a map of this whole mall in my head! So, from here, keep going until you see a water fountain and Macy’s should be on your left.”
“Thank you very much kind stranger. Here’s a token of our gratitude.”
One girl came forward and handed Bruce an envelope.
“Make sure you go okay?”, the girls told Bruce.
“But I don’t even know what-,” Bruce saw what was in the envelope and gasped “those girls were part of a famous band?! Wow, how lucky am I gonna be today?”
Bruce then took a closer look at the ticket and did a little celebration dance, “And I get a VIP spot too?! Haha, I got a free duck for dinner and I got a VIP spot at a band concert. Man, I dunno what black magic or Voodoo magic’s happening but I like it!”
Bruce put on his headphones, put his phone on shuffle, and enjoyed his time going home.
