See something Say Something is an awareness project Student Government took on to teach students about being aware of violence and to tell students to inform an adult if they see anything happening so we can prevent a tragedy like the Connecticut shooting.
Students participated and showed their support by placing their handprint on the outside B wing stairwell. Painting took place at 8:25 a.m. and at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5 and Wednesday, Feb. 6.
“The mural is so that every student can participate,” senior Joseph Vasquez said. “At the ceremony, we will have a flower honoring each school that faced a school shooting in the past 10 years.”
There will be a ceremony Friday, Feb. 8 after school at 4:05 in the courtyard to honor all the schools that have been affected by a school shooting.
“The point of See Something Say Something is to give student’s awareness to speak up against violence in our school,” senior Katie Moore said. “The mural is a symbol of unity for our school to come together and a promise to say something about violence if you see it.”
