Majestics, Sapphire Dancers Leap to Success at HTE Competition
The Majestics and Sapphire Dancers found great success at the HTE National Dance Competition, which took place on March 22 in San Antonio.
After months of preparation, the two dance teams spent 17 hours at the competition in Samuel Clemons High School performing, watching other dancers and receiving awards.
Individuals and small groups received awards including junior Amber Hokama as the 10th place solo finalist, Hokama and junior Lauren Rodriguez as second place duet winners, seniors Kelsie White and Ariel Mamiya as fifth place duet winners, and Rodriguez and juniors Riley Mattson and Kelby Harrison as the trio champion winners.
The dancers earned many accomplishments together as teams as well, with the Majestics becoming National Grand Champions and with both teams earning the Sweepstakes title.
