Dance Teams Raise the Barre at Competition
The Majestics and Sapphire Dancers competed March 1 in the Vista Ridge Dance Championship Competition hosted by the Vista Ridge Star Steppers Dance Team.
The Majestics and Sapphires both placed first in three team dances, with Sapphires competing in the JV category. In total, the Majestics and Sapphires brought home 16 awards, with the Majestics earning Overall Grand Champion of the day.
“We practiced a lot, and ran the dances multiple times,” junior Kate Leyendecker said. “There were before school practices, and I felt prepared for the competition. Running the dances over and over really helped fine tune and correct the routines.”
