Maverick Choirs End Year on High Note at Spring Trip
On the weekend of May 15-17, the Maverick choirs traveled to Dallas for their spring trip. The choirs competed in the Seasons Music Festival and won various awards.
Chamber Singers and the Meistersingers each won a trophy for superior performance from each judge and a Best in Class trophy. Also, Chorale Women won a trophy for superior performance and a Best in Class Runner-Up trophy.
“The competition aspect of the trip was just as great as the trip itself,” senior Nayoung Hur said. “All three choirs that we took performed so well and the acoustics of the Meyerson also helped us sound super cool.”
Along with the festival, the choirs also went to Six Flags, the Hard Rock Cafe, the Galleria and Northpark Mall as time to have fun and bond together.
“My favorite part of the trip was most definitely the prank war between the senior girls and senior boys,” Hur said. “We made a contract and all signed it to abide with the rules. Throughout the trip, this prank war added a lot of spice and fun; the tensions between us made it all the more entertaining. We would have to play spy for literally the whole time we were at the hotel.”
