Soda and Pi Available

The annual Math Relay, hosted by Mu Alpha Theta, is slated for after school March 30 in the cafeteria.

Last year, more than 500 students participated. The relay runs from 4:15 5 p.m. Participants are encouraged to reach the cafeteria on time because the volume of students entering all at once makes it difficult to begin the competition on time.

The enthusiasm Math Relay gets each year from students and teachers is always positive. All range of grades from freshman to seniors participate. The fee to participate is 50 cents; however, the soda is complementary.

There are an infinite number of reasons to participate: one being that sum people like the fact that most math teachers offer extra credit in their respective math classes to those who participate. This isn’t odd, because teachers offer extra credit every year.

In the past, the relay questions were short answer questions. The Mu Alpha Theta officers took a new angle and derived multiple choice questions instead. To function properly, each student should bring their own pencil and calculator.

This event is the real deal, so be rational and sine up with your math teacher. Just du it before March 10. It will be easy as pi.
