Mavs Hit Home Run with District Title
The varsity baseball team won its first outright district title since moving up from 4A
more than 15 years ago.
Senior Ryan Keese scattered five hits over seven innings in Saturday’s 32 win over the Round Rock
Dragons.
The Mavs swept Pflugerville 52 and 42 after a loss against Stony Point. Even though
the team lost its winning streak, they still remained in first place.
“I am so proud of how much this team has achieved this year,” Head Coach Andy
Dawson said. “They’ve worked so hard, they deserve this.”
The boys had great expectations for this season and want to continue their wins.
“The goal is not just to make it to playoffs,” senior Hudson Holmes said. “But to win it.”
The final district game will be April 26 at 7 p.m. at McNeil High School.
