Bollywood Club makes plans for 2016-17
Bollywood Club held the final meeting for the year May 17. The presidents, sophomores Tejal Kulkarni and Divya Malani, along with sponsor Grace Edsel, announced several plans for the 2016-17 school year.
“I’m looking forward to hosting Indian cultural events the following school year,” Kulkarni said. “Our goal is to have a McNeil holi.”
During the meeting, the leaders showed a trailer for an upcoming Bollywood movie, Housefull 3. The leaders are also hoping to host a color run and a holi festival next year which involves music, dancing, and the throwing of colors.
“I really enjoy spreading the Bollywood culture,” Malani said. “I especially enjoy teaching dance moves to others who are less familiar with Bollywood.”
After explaining prospects for next year and handing out naan chips, Malani and Kulkarni led members through a dance to a Bollywood song. They incorporated several Hindu movements such as the lotus flower.
“More than 40 members showed up this meeting,” Kulkarni said. “The future for Bollywood Club is looking pretty great”
