Sock It to Westwood
Undies, sock drive benefits district Clothes Closet
In the annual rivalry competition with Westwood High School, McNeil is hosting a sock and underwear drive asking people to donate new socks and underwear to benefit the RRISD Clothes Closet.
Principal Courtney Acosta made a video about the drive and posted it on her Twitter.
McNeil is known to have a rivalry with Westwood, but this year the rivalry has been taken to another level because her husband, Mario Acosta, is now the principal of Westwood.
Mrs. Acosta is trying to get McNeil to beat Westwood in events such as this sock and undie drive. Help McNeil win, student can contribute socks and underwear to the bin outside of Suite 2.
Also, this year McNeil will have a competition through the drive for which groups donate the most. Prizes will be be given to the winners in each of the following categories:
-First place for the third period that donates the most socks or undies
-First place for the club or organization that donates the most socks or undies
-First place for the athletic team that donates the most socks or undies
-First place for the teacher that donates the most socks or undies
Your donation will support the student journalists of McNeil High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment and cover our annual website hosting costs.
