Mav tennis plays against Round Rock
Mav tennis defeated by Round Rock
On Sept. 16, the varsity tennis team played against Round Rock. The result was a loss of 3-17. However, the game was an enriching experience for the players.
“Whenever I would volly and Kim would be able to finish the point was the highlight of the game,” Trusha Tiwari, junior varsity tennis member, said. “It was great teamwork.”
Tiwari and her doubles partner, freshmen Kimberly Tran, won their match against Round Rock. It was a meaningful victory because the two had been preparing for weeks for this match.
“We were playing solid,” Vignesh Krishnamurthy, junior varsity tennis member, said. “Hopefully we’ll train harder and win next time.”
The loss does not affect the team’s participation or rank at the district level.
“This match helped us see what we need to work on,” Tiwari said. “Through practice, we’ll be able to make sure we can win the next match.”
District tournament is imminent, and the tennis teams will have the next match on Sept. 23.
“We will definitely work harder,” Kimberly Tran, freshmen varsity player, said. “It’s going to be great.”
