A Whole New Meaning

As McNeil comes to its 21st season of football, the Marching Band has put together a completely different show that they’ve never done before. This year’s show is titled “Inverted” and brings a lot more than shows have in the past.

“We chose the title ‘Inverted’ because it could mean different things,” marching director Josh Munoz said. “The title gave us the opportunity to make the show mean whatever we want it to.”

Not only is the band excited, but the colorguard also has new ways to show off their talents.

“We are very excited to have inversion tables and explore the new world of what we are able to do,” sophomore Zech Smith said.

As the rehearsals and Friday night football games continue, band and guard members prepare themselves for this year’s unprecedented five competitions.

“I can’t believe that as my second show, we get to compete in bigger and better competitions,” sophomore Valerie Alvarado said.

As this will be the last show for the seniors, they are glad that it’s something completely new and different.

“We are so glad that we have the opportunity to make the show the best that we can,” Munoz said. “ And the fact that everyone is putting in the effort, makes it even better.”
