The Jinx Lacey Memorial Library Taker Space craft kit distribution
The Jinx Lacey Memorial Library and its staff, will be distributing craft kits for students and staff to pick up. The distribution will occur on weekdays throughout the school year beginning at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m. They will alternate between different craft kits each month. This month’s craft kit options are coloring pages, “Washi Tape” phone holder, “Duct Tape” ID lanyard, yarn wreath and bullet journaling.
“We thought the kits would be a great way to stay connected to our students and staff,” Librarian Amelia Lewis said. “We can’t have students in the library right now, and our usually loud library is quiet and a bit sad.”
Students currently doing at-home learning will select a time and date listed on the “Taker Space” form found on the library’s website and then come to the school and receive their kit through the Curbside Book service area at the new main entrance. Meanwhile, in-person students and staff will receive their kit at school during fourth or eighth period.
“We had to shut the form down in order to keep up with requests, and we ran out of some supplies within 24 hours,” Lewis said. “We are reordering as quickly as we can, so we hope to have all of our options back up and running very soon. But, I think it shows the need people have to give themselves a bit of a brain break during this stressful time. We are happy to be able to provide a destresser to those who need it.”
