Attorney General Ken Panxton is suing RRISD along with five other school districts for mandating masks in violation of Gov. Greg Abbott’s GA-38 executive order, which bans local officials and entities from mandating masks. These school districts are only a handful of many defying Gov. Abbott’s executive order.

An email sent by Round Rock ISD stated that a Williamson county judge has banned Round Rock ISD from enforcing its mandated mandate, and that they will comply with the court order. However, the Texas 3rd Court of Appeals issued a hold on the order, allowing the mandate to continue.
