Why should you vote?

The 2022 midterms are coming up in November and if you are a US citizen who is 18 or older, it is your right to vote. Voter turnout is consistently lower during midterm elections compared to presidential elections, and turnout is lowest for the 18-24 age group. However, these elections can have a big impact on the balance of power in state and local governments. There are many important races coming up, including those for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general. These races will be hotly contested, following significant developments on important issues in the last few years, including immigration and the overturn of Roe v. Wade.
