Students and staff can make one guess each of how many candies are in the jar in the library until Feb. 29. To participate, fill out the guesstimation slip in the library.
The student or staff member with the closest guess will win the candy.
“I realized we do a lot with English and social studies but we don’t do as much with math,” librarian Lindsey Phillips said. “This doesn’t take a lot of math skills, but it’s a fun way we can incorporate math as well.”
For the last candy jar, the library collected a total of 80 guesses.
“I really do feel like the library is the heart of the campus, and it’s not just about books, it’s about STEM activities, meetings, and just silly random stuff like the candy jar,” Phillips said.
