AP classes are a great way to prepare for college-level work. They look good on school applications as schools like to see students’ effort and college readiness. They are also a good opportunity to earn credit. McNeil offers many AP classes.
AP Biology is a great class to grow knowledge on things like evolution, cellular systems, genetics and other biological system interactions. The class is difficult but rewarding in the end. Luckily, not too much work is given in the class and many students find it fascinating overall.
“You don’t need to work too hard to keep an A,” Hiamani Patel said. “And it was interesting to me. We mostly learned about closeups with cells and organic biology. The second semester we learned more about genetics and math.”
AP Psych is a class recommended by many students as it’s an easier course than other APs. The subject is interesting and it covers many topics like mental processes and human behaviors. This is a more exciting way to earn college credits as it involves more hands-on ways of learning.
“I like all the projects and reading about the case studies,” Sumaiya Sheik said. “I learn a lot about people and how they interact. It’s somewhat easy.”
Another recommended AP is Human Geography. This course goes over cultural patterns, urban land use, how humans have used and changed the earth, etc. The class is overall more interesting than many other AP classes.
“My favorite AP was Human Geography because the concepts are cool and some teachers give really good examples but there is a lot of reading,” Myra Lawrence said. “It’s a really decent class that’s not too hard to pass.”
