The YMCA will no longer be letting students park, get dropped off or picked up on their premises, due to excessive amounts of students parking there, affecting traffic flow. Signs enforcing these rules are posted outside of the building along with several email reminders.
“[The parking situation] is hard,” senior Crhizann Mejia said. “One time, I just parked at the YMCA”.
Students have expressed concern over the change due to the occasional lack of parking available at school.
“Especially because there’s like a lot of people parking in the back [of the school] and there’s a lot of restrictions,” said Mejia. “That’s crazy that they [YMCA] will get straight to towing just for parking”.
According to administration, vehicles that don’t belong to YMCA members and visitors during the 25-26 school year will be towed.
