Tales as Old as Time
There is no friend like Disney movies
While Disney movies may seem to be just for kids, that is a lie. First off, watching Disney movies gives you an immense amount of joy and humor. They are not simply made for children to enjoy and dream of happily ever after, just to reference a few of those princess movies. Disney movies are made to teach lessons and, of course, provide stress relief after hours of school work. And you can’t forget the childhood memories that come back, for any movie you choose to watch.
Okay, so let’s start off with those Disney lessons I mentioned.
Lesson number one: get down to business, that means as much as we want to procrastinate and avoid certain assignments we must try harder to fight that “senioritis.”
Lesson number two: there is something there, almost sweet and almost kind, in everyone. All the beauties and beasts in the world all have something on the inside that you just can’t see on the outside, so don’t judge a beast by its looks. (No worries, not all the lessons come from the princess movies.)
Lesson number three: hakuna matata, means no worries for the rest of your days; there is no need to worry about how you will make it through the day or if your rank will be high enough. Simply, hakuna matata.
The lessons are endless, but I think you understand that Disney movies have way more valuable lessons than we give them credit for.
Moving past the deeper meanings of the movies, let’s just briefly discuss how relaxing watching a Disney movie is. No matter what Disney movie you watch, there is always a cute “aw” moment or a happy tune. If you think I’m wrong, try to think of one Disney movie that didn’t have at least one happy moment. While these happy moments may be seen as cliche for the fulfilling of happily ever after or simply sweet dreams to kids, they really create something pleasing and easy to watch. Not everyone can enjoy all Disney movies, but you should at least consider the warm feeling of a lighthearted and clean movie (this is not always an effect for everyone, but is highly likely.)
The last thing I want to remind you of about the greatness of Disney movies is the childhood memories, rewatching the same VCR tape over and over again. If you just can’t bring yourself to watch a Disney movie now, remember how at least one brought a happy memory to your childhood, and hopefully then you’ll want to rekindle the feeling. And while not all feelings can be renewed, you can always make a new memory and learn totally new lessons.
There is so much more to be said about Disney and the fun for all ages, but I think after reading this article you’ll want to watch a Disney movie, so I should wrap this up. As you watch the Disney movie, look for a lesson to learn and a memory to make, there will be one. Watch a Disney movie for the first time in forever and enjoy.
