It wasn’t until after the half that the Lady Mavs began to weaken. They failed to retrieve rebounds and gave Hendrickson an advantage. Hendrickson had become hard on the Lady Mavs and made point after point.
By the start of the fourth quarter, Lady Mavs had brought on their A-game and stole the court from the Hawks. However, it was too little, too late: Hendrickson won 42-45.
The game with Cedar Ridge did not go so smoothly either. Cedar Ridge drew first blood scoring. During the second quarter, the Lady Mavs tried to even the score, but the Lady Raiders wouldn’t give up their lead.
Despite being behind, the Lady Mavs tried to play well but the referees called foul upon foul against McNeil.
By the end of second quarter, the Lady Mavs trailed 12-29.
Halftime gave the the girls a chance to regroup and figure out their plan. During the third quarter, the Lady Mavs gained on the Lady Raiders to pull within five, 38-43.
The Lady Mavs, during the fourth quarter, buckled down tying the game and surpassing the Lady Raiders. However, Cedar Ridge counterattacked and took the win 51-61.
