Despite tensions running high at the boys’ varsity soccer game against Westwood, the Mavericks celebrated another victory. Their hard work paid off with a 4-1 win.
With playoffs upon them, the team will have to put in some extra time to prepare.
“We will definitely have to start coming in on our own time,” senior Kyle Talley said. “The other teams at playoffs are way too ridiculous for us not to start doing some extra work and conditioning.”
The team also won a game against Pflugerville with a close score of 2-1.
Although the recent victories helped boost the confidence of the players and even put them in first place in district play, they still know that they need to continue to focus and put in more effort at every practice and game.
They celebrated a 3-0 victory over Hendrickson March 22 and trained hard to get back on their feet after the loss of a close game against Cedar Ridge March 26.
