At the District track meet at Round Rock High School on Wednesday and Thursday, varsity and JV girls placed first, and freshmen took second.
Out of the last six district meets, the Lady Mavs have taken five of those titles.
The following varsity girls have advanced to Area competition: Pole Vault: Danielle Urban, first place; Discus: Kemi Adetutu and Cheryl Cruts, second place and third place, respectively; Triple Jump: Darian Austin, fourth place; 100m Dash: Judy Emeodi, first place; 200m Dash: Sydney Howells and Emeodi, first place and third place, respectively; 800m Run: Amelia McElhinney, second place; 1600m Run: Amelia McElhinney and Zoe Punske, first place and second place, respectively; 3200m Run: Punske, first place; 4×100 Relay: Silvana Verri, Gracen Odendahl, Howells, Emeodi, second place; 4×200 Relay: Verri, Odendahl, Austin, Howells, fourth place.
“I hope we make it to regionals,” sophomore Cruts said. “We are already a competitive team as is, and I would like to see us advance.”
