The Mavericks’ season came to a close May 10 as they were defeated by Kingwood in the second round of baseball playoffs
The Mavs lost game one to the Mustangs 3-0 as Kingwood made the most of seven hits off of Mavericks starter Matt Tobolka.
In game two on Saturday, Kyle Dutton took the mound for the Mavs and held the Mustangs to only a four-run second inning, their only runs of the game.
Kingwood pitcher Reed Robinson was able to hold on for a 4-3 Kingwood win and put an end to the Mavericks season.
