Juke Box Hero Junior Jonathan Boozer runs the ball for a first down against the Hendrickson Hawks.

In past years, Hendrickson has been a well-developed team. So far this season,  they have dominated the district competition.  But even as taking a 13-40 loss against the Hawks, the Mavericks still gave it their all, leaving it all on the field.

Montana Berry caught two passes leading to 33 yards for the Mavs. Montana’s longest gain of yards during one play was 23 yards.

Joseph Gama also caught two passes from quarterback Hayden Cooper, scoring on the second pass, which seemed to give the Mavs hope.

“After the second half, we came back and scored our first possession,” Matt Wright said. “It felt good to pick my team up a little bit.”

The McNeil Mavs had a bye week Oct. 3 and will play Westwood Friday, Oct. 10 at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
