Lady Mavs soccer participates in The Woodlands tournament
The Lady Mavs soccer team won two out of three games at the Woodlands tournament Jan. 5-7 signaling the hope of a great upcoming season.
“I was most impressed with how we played as a team and played both sides of the ball, offensively and defensively,” Coach Jennifer Womack said. “We found areas that need to be worked on and combinations of players that work well together.”
Through hard work and clever tactics, the Lady Mavs utilized an advantageous strategy to bring a win.
“We had great chemistry last weekend,” senior Saffana Velji said. “Two out of the three games we won were close.”
The teams participating in The Woodlands tournament had great talent.
“Winning isn’t everything but with this team, I look forward to having a great time,” Velji said.
