Varsity football will face Cedar Ridge this Friday, Oct. 25. As of now, the Mavericks are 2-5 and Cedar Ridge is 3-5, the Mavericks still have a chance to make state playoffs but need to win the next three games to do so.
“This upcoming game is crucial for us to make the playoffs,” junior quarterback Jadon Sultz said. “Our backs are against the wall and we need to win out in order to make the playoffs so this game is the start of that.”
Last year when the Mavs and the Raiders faced off, it resulted in a Mav shutout win 31-0, but the Raiders have shown improvement this season, boasting three more wins than they had at this point last year.
“We’re really confident for this game, we’ve been practicing for the last two weeks and really have our game plan.” Sultz said “This is obviously a must win game for us so nerves are high. Luckily last week was a bye week for us so we used it to practice and recover so we can play our best this Friday.”
This Friday marks the last home game at the KRAC for this season. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
