Raiders Take Mavs for a Ride

Cedar Ridge High School opened its doors in 2010. Since then, the school has been successful in areas such as fine arts, academics and sports. The Mavericks put up a challenge against the Raiders but ended the night 13-34.

Junior Justin Ward earned the spotlight with 52 running yards and the first touchdown for the Mavericks. Ward seemed to keep the team’s spirits high during and after the game.

Senior Zach Epstein stepped back onto the field this game catching two passes and gaining a total of 15 yards.

Alongside Epstein, senior Keegan Dempsey returned to play after an injury in preseason. Dempsey’s impact on the field was greatly visible, as he made many tackles for the McNeil defense leading to a slow offensive advance for the Cedar Ridge Raiders.

The McNeil Mavericks next go up against the Westwood Warriors on October 8 at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex at 7 p.m.
