It’s going to be a “suite” year!

Over the summer, the administrative staff altered all the names of the offices along the main mall and counseling offices in a massive reorganization and relocation of personnel.

“The new names bring uniformity to the offices,” Senior Administrative Associate Debi Casso said. “It is also easier for the counselors to work with with the other staff. The names just bring everything more together.”

New names include, Office Suite 1, Office Suite 2 and Office Suite 3, which replaced the names of the main counseling office, the Assistant Principals’ Office, and the freshman counseling/AP office, respectively. The registrar switched places with the old College and Career Center, which is now at E112. Lead counselor Gary Vaden’s new office moved to room E114.This was done to connect the counselors’ offices to the principals’ and to provide better support for students.

Even so, returning students have been intrigued and confused by the name change.

“The names are kind of confusing,” junior Hannah McCaa said. “The freshmen won’t notice a difference, but to [returning students] I don’t think it was that helpful.”

Administrative staff still maintain a positive perspective on the new names. The pros seen in renaming the offices override the momentary disorientation. But, these names don’t only apply to students. Visitors on campus find it easier locating “Office Suite 1” instead of “the counselors’ office” because of the general location of the suites.
“If any student needs assistance or is lost in finding an office, administrative staff and I are all willing to help them find what they need,” Casso said.
