Assistant Principal Lesley Bohmann

Assistant Principal Lesley Bohmann has been at McNeil for 4 years. She attended Texas State University where she received her Masters in Education and Bachelor of Science in Education. In honor of AP Appreciation week earlier this month, here are some interesting facts about Bohmann  from her favorite Ben and Jerry’s flavor to advice she would give her high school self.

What is your favorite Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor?

That’s tough.  I love Ben & Jerry’s.  My two favorites are Change the Whirled and Coconut Seven Layer Bar.

What is your favorite travel destination?

Hawaii

Who is your favorite historical figure?

Ruth Bader Ginsburg

How and why did you decide to work with students?

As a first generation college student, I attribute my success to school and athletics.  It seemed like the natural progression to become a coach and teacher to help others realize the opportunities available with hard work.

Have you picked up any new hobbies or started any projects during quarantine?

Yes, I’ve done a lot of hiking and projects around the house.

What advice would you give your high school self?

I would tell myself to explore all the possibilities and opportunities the world has to offer, and that it’s okay to follow my dreams, even if it’s not what others wanted me to do.

When you were in high school, what were your aspirations?

I wanted to be a college track coach, which I got to do for two years. I quickly realized I wanted to teach and coach at the high school level where I felt I could have a bigger impact.
