Hoards of people, radiating an infectious enthusiasm. A multiplex of food stands, each rendering their own unique cuisine. A booming melody of rock-n-roll, filling the air with euphoric disarray.

If such an affair is of your interest, then you may be inclined to visit the annual Austin City Limits Music Festival. Held on the first weekend of October (3-5) and the subsequent weekend (10-12) at Zilker Park, the ACL festival has developed a reputation as a prominent event on the calendar.

“I’m really happy ACL is finally here,” junior Thomas Henthorn said. “The atmosphere is just really cool.”

As an offshoot of a successful TV show, the ACL festival has hosted a cornucopia of diverse musical talent – ranging from mainstream to more obscure bands. Among the performers will be musical heavyweights Eminem, Pearl Jam, Lana Del Rey, Lorde and Interpol. Also gracing the stage will be up-and-comers School of Rock, Broods and The Q Brothers.

“I love the selection of bands at [the ACL],” senior Anthony Pommaz said. “It has lots of popular bands and some really good underground bands.”
